Public Schools
The Calgary Board of Education CBE serves public schools within Calgary, supporting 200+ schools. To make locating important information more convenient, they offer a webpage CBE which references frequently requested information.
The CBE has divided Calgary’s neighborhoods and communities into five areas to better serve residents and express the CBE’s mission statement: “Educating Tomorrows Citizens Today.”
Area 1 - Parkdale Centre
The Parkdale Centre region is the quickest-growing region in Calgary, and is made up of 28 communities in the southwest and northwest regions of the city. The enrollment is over 15,000 students.
The Mount View Centre has an enrollment of 21,000 students and serves 37 communities in the northwest and northeast of Calgary.
Area 3 - Willowglen Business Park
The Willowglen- Caring for 23 communities in northeast and southeast Calgary, Willowglen is also the most culturally diverse. It offers a strong English as a Second Language (ESL) program as well as many cross-cultural programs.
Area 4 - Ernest Manning High School
The Ernest Manning High School region of Calgary boasts 20 per cent of the city's population. It serves the southwest and southeast regions of the city and has the highest number of single people in Calgary.
Area 5 - Haysboro Centre
The Haysboro Centre area serves southwest and southeast Calgary and boasts the highest enrollment of students in the city: 24,061.
Catholic Schools
The Calgary Catholic School District is the largest Catholic school district in Alberta, serving over 44,000 students in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and the Municipal District of Rocky View. This learning organization educates and empowers students from kindergarten to Grade 12 to reach their full potential, meet life’s challenges, serve their community, and journey in faith.
